The Traditional Voice and Data Environment

In the traditional model, Voice and Internet services are delivered on two separate, disparate networks.

Access to the PSTN, or public voice network, is via T1, PRI, POTS, Centrex, and the like. Within the customer premises, there exists a PBX, voicemail, call accounting system, unified messaging server, and of course, telephones!

A T1, xDSL, or Cable Modem connects the Internet to a Router, possibly to a Data Firewall, and then to your corporate network, or Local Area Network. Data Cabling connects the LAN to your Desktop PC and Network devices, like printers and scanners.

Even if both services are delivered over the same physical connection, The two services must be segregated because they utilize different protocols and even technologies. They cannot serve as backups for one another, nor can they provide any additional benefit to one another. They are distinct and completely independent.

PressOne Converged Technology

PressOne Hosted IP-PBX Service from AMP converges voice and data communications into a single, high reliability, tightly integrated network with the features and capabilities of a high-end enterprise communications network without the high costs of acquisition and service. While PressONE service is normally delivered over a dedicated broadband connection to our Network Operations Center to ensure Quality of Service, acceptable performance can be achieved using a DSL connection to the internet.

The PressOne Network provides simultaneous connections to the public Voice and Internet networks. PressOne then optimizes that network to support data and prioritize Voice traffic between and among your existing data devices as well as IP Phones, the next generation of traditional telephony

AMP houses, operates, upgrades, and maintains your company's PBX at no additional cost. Because we host the communications server at our Network Operations Center , we can distribute the costs of this system over a large number of subscribers. This makes high end communications and data services available to small and medium sized businesses at a more affordable price. Initial outlay for software and equipment is minimal. A company subscribing to our PressONE service pays a nominal setup charge and then pays monthly for the services used.

Because we contract for local, long distance and Internet services at high volume, we receive very favorable rates and pass the savings on to our subscribers.

With a single point of contact for all of your communications services, changes and problem resolution are simplified.

With IP capabilities your phone system will function over any Internet connection anywhere in the world; your cable modem at home, a hotel connection overseas, a remote office, or a supplier's warehouse. With PressOne you can modify or update your corporate phone system from any web browser in the world.
